🔄 Instructions:
- Activate the yeast:
In a bowl, mix warm milk, 1 tsp sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy. - Make the dough:
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, egg, yolk, vanilla, butter, and the activated yeast mix. Knead until soft and elastic (about 8–10 minutes). Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled. - Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). If using wooden molds, wrap them in foil and grease them well with butter or oil.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch (0.5 cm) thick. Cut into long strips (about 1 inch wide).
- Wrap the dough around the greased molds in a spiral, slightly overlapping. Gently press the edges to seal. Roll them slightly on the counter to even them out.
- Brush with melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar (or your topping of choice). 🤎
- Bake standing up (or on a rack) for 15–20 minutes, rotating halfway through for even color. The sugar should caramelize beautifully!
- Final brush of butter and roll again in more topping right out of the oven! Serve warm and pull apart those golden spirals! 🔥💫
🍬 Flavor Twists:
- Roll in vanilla sugar, chopped hazelnuts, crushed Oreos, or coconut flakes after baking
- Add Nutella or whipped cream inside before serving 😍
