
🧁 Classic Hungarian Linzer Cookies Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups (300g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, room temp
- 2/3 cup (80g) powdered sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Apricot or raspberry jam for filling
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
- Cream the butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Mix in the egg yolk, vanilla, and lemon zest.
- Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness and cut into rounds (cut a hole in the center of half for the tops).
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Let cool, then sandwich with jam and dust with powdered sugar.
