Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents

These buttery, flaky crescent rolls filled with savory sausage and creamy cheese are perfect for breakfast, snacks, or parties!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (pork, turkey, or plant-based)
  • 1 package (8 oz/225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Cook the Sausage:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain any excess grease.
    • Stir the softened cream cheese into the hot sausage until fully combined. If using, mix in the shredded cheddar cheese for an extra cheesy filling.
  3. Prepare the Crescents:
    • Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
    • Place about 1–2 tablespoons of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each triangle.
  4. Roll and Seal:
    • Roll each triangle up from the wide end to the narrow end, tucking the edges slightly to seal the filling. Place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Optional Egg Wash:
    • Brush the tops of the crescent rolls with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and puffed.
  7. Serve Warm:
    • These are best served warm but can be reheated in the oven or microwave.
