Authentic Tiramisu Recipe (No-Bake Italian Dessert)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Cream Mixture

  1. In a heatproof bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar.
  2. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) and whisk continuously for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens and becomes pale. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Add the mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until smooth and fluffy.

Step 2: Prepare the Coffee Mixture

  1. Brew fresh espresso or strong coffee and let it cool to room temperature.
  2. Stir in the coffee liqueur (if using).

Step 3: Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture for about 1-2 seconds (don’t soak too much, or they’ll become soggy).
  2. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in a glass dish or serving bowl.
  3. Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
  4. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and spread the remaining mascarpone cream on top.

Step 4: Chill & Serve

  1. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  2. Before serving, dust the top generously with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
  3. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Tips for the Perfect Tiramisu

  • Use high-quality mascarpone for the best creamy texture.
  • Chill overnight for better flavor and texture.
  • Don’t over-soak the ladyfingers, or they will turn mushy.
  • Add grated dark chocolate between layers for an extra indulgence.

This easy tiramisu recipe is perfect for dinner parties, holidays, or when you just crave a creamy, coffee-flavored dessert! Would you like any modifications, like an eggless version or a different flavor twist? 😊
