Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Cream Mixture
- In a heatproof bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar.
- Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) and whisk continuously for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens and becomes pale. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Add the mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until smooth and fluffy.
Step 2: Prepare the Coffee Mixture
- Brew fresh espresso or strong coffee and let it cool to room temperature.
- Stir in the coffee liqueur (if using).
Step 3: Assemble the Tiramisu
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture for about 1-2 seconds (don’t soak too much, or they’ll become soggy).
- Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in a glass dish or serving bowl.
- Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and spread the remaining mascarpone cream on top.
Step 4: Chill & Serve
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- Before serving, dust the top generously with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
- Serve chilled and enjoy!
Tips for the Perfect Tiramisu
- Use high-quality mascarpone for the best creamy texture.
- Chill overnight for better flavor and texture.
- Don’t over-soak the ladyfingers, or they will turn mushy.
- Add grated dark chocolate between layers for an extra indulgence.
This easy tiramisu recipe is perfect for dinner parties, holidays, or when you just crave a creamy, coffee-flavored dessert! Would you like any modifications, like an eggless version or a different flavor twist? 😊
