- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded provolone cheese (preferably sharp or aged)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning (optional)
