Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
    • Drain, drizzle with olive oil, and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Beef Mixture:
    • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
    • Add diced onion and garlic, cooking until fragrant and soft (about 3–4 minutes).
    • Stir in the pizza/marinara sauce, pepperoni slices (if using), Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Combine Pasta and Beef Mixture:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the beef mixture. Mix well to coat the pasta evenly.
  4. Assemble the Casserole:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Spread half of the pasta mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Sprinkle half of the mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheese over the pasta.
    • Add the remaining pasta mixture on top, followed by the rest of the cheese.
    • Top with optional sliced olives, diced bell pepper, and extra pepperoni slices.
  5. Bake:
    • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
    • Remove the foil and bake for another 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Serve:
    • Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. Slice into portions and enjoy the pizza-inspired flavors!

Tips:

  • Add your favorite pizza toppings like mushrooms, cooked sausage, or pineapple for extra flavor.
  • Use gluten-free pasta to make it gluten-friendly.
  • Serve with a side salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
