Instructions
- Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- Drain, drizzle with olive oil, and set aside.
- Prepare the Beef Mixture:
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Add diced onion and garlic, cooking until fragrant and soft (about 3–4 minutes).
- Stir in the pizza/marinara sauce, pepperoni slices (if using), Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Combine Pasta and Beef Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the beef mixture. Mix well to coat the pasta evenly.
- Assemble the Casserole:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread half of the pasta mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle half of the mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheese over the pasta.
- Add the remaining pasta mixture on top, followed by the rest of the cheese.
- Top with optional sliced olives, diced bell pepper, and extra pepperoni slices.
- Bake:
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Serve:
- Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. Slice into portions and enjoy the pizza-inspired flavors!
