For the Sponge Cake (makes 6 layers):
- 6 large eggs (room temp)
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (90g) all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Buttercream:
- 7 oz (200g) semi-sweet chocolate, melted & cooled
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, room temp
- 3/4 cup (90g) powdered sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
For the Caramel Topping:
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Butter for greasing

1. Bake the Sponge Layers:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
