Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the Ground Beef:
    In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess fat. Add the chopped onion and cook for another 2-3 minutes until softened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Prepare the Casserole:
    Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer the thinly sliced potatoes on the bottom of the dish. Spread the cooked beef and onion mixture evenly on top.
  4. Make the Sauce:
    In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Stir until smooth, then pour it over the beef and potato layers.
  5. Add Cheese:
    Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
  6. Bake:
