3. Preheat the Skillet
Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat. Lightly grease it with butter or oil. Don’t crank up the heat — these pancakes cook best low and slow.
4. Cook the Pancakes
Use about 2 tablespoons of batter per pancake. Spoon it into the pan and use the back of the spoon to gently shape it. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes until you see bubbles forming on the surface and the edges look set.
Then carefully flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side.
5. Serve & Top
Slide the pancakes onto a warm plate, stack them high, and add all your favorite toppings.
Favorite Toppings
- A dollop of Greek yogurt and a drizzle of honey
- Fresh strawberries, blueberries, or banana slices
- A sprinkle of chopped nuts or seeds
- Melted dark chocolate or peanut butter swirl
Tips for Success
- Use very ripe bananas – brown spots are a good sign!
- Keep them small so they flip easily and stay fluffy.
- If your first pancake falls apart a bit — don’t worry! The pan might’ve been too hot or not greased enough. Adjust and keep going.
- Want to make them ahead? These freeze beautifully. Just reheat in a toaster or skillet.

A Little Family Backstory (Optional for Your Blog)
This is one of those recipes I turn to when the mornings are slow, and I just want to feel grounded — warm pancakes, a cup of coffee, and music in the background. It’s the kind of breakfast that reminds me of simpler times and happy moments shared at the kitchen table. I hope it brings that feeling to your home, too.
