Fluffy Pan-Fried Biscuits

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together yogurt (or buttermilk), milk, egg, and melted butter.
  2. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.
  3. Shape the Biscuits:
    • On a floured surface, gently roll out the dough to about 1-inch (2.5 cm) thickness. Use a round cutter or a glass to cut out biscuit shapes.
  4. Pan-Fry the Biscuits:
    • Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a small amount of oil or butter.
    • Place the biscuits in the pan, leaving space between them. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Lower the heat if they brown too quickly.
  5. Serve Warm:
    • Transfer to a plate and serve immediately. These biscuits are delicious on their own or with butter, honey, or jam!

Tips for Success

  • If you prefer a sweeter version, add an extra tablespoon of sugar.
  • For a savory twist, mix in cheese or herbs like chives or parsley.
