Instructions:
1. Prepare the Liquid Dough:
– In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
– Gradually add water to the dry ingredients while stirring, until you achieve a smooth, pourable batter. The consistency should be similar to pancake batter.
2. Heat the Pan:
– Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Add a small amount of olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan.
3. Cook the Flatbread:
– Pour a ladleful of the liquid dough into the hot skillet, spreading it out gently to form a round shape (about 6 inches in diameter).
– Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until bubbles start to form on the surface and the edges look set.
– Flip the flatbread and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
4. Prepare the Garlic Oil:
– In a small saucepan, heat the remaining olive oil over low heat. Add the minced garlic and oregano, cooking gently until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes). Be careful not to burn the garlic.
5. Finish the Flatbread:
– Once the flatbread is cooked, remove it from the skillet and brush it with the garlic oil mixture. You can also sprinkle some fresh parsley on top for added flavor and color.
6. Serve:
– Serve the garlic flatbread warm as a side dish or use it to wrap around your favorite fillings. It’s great with dips, salads, or as a base for healthy toppings.
