Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Pinwheels

Instructions

1. Prepare the Puff Pastry

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet onto a clean surface. If it’s too sticky, lightly flour your surface.

2. Assemble the Pinwheels

  1. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard over the surface of the puff pastry (optional, but adds great flavor).
  2. Evenly layer the sliced ham across the pastry.
  3. Sprinkle the grated cheese over the ham, making sure to cover it completely.
  4. Season with a little salt and pepper to taste.

3. Roll & Slice

  1. Carefully roll up the puff pastry from one edge, rolling tightly to form a log.
  2. Slice the roll into 1-inch wide pinwheels.

4. Bake the Pinwheels

  1. Place the pinwheels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Beat the egg and brush it over the top of each pinwheel for a golden finish.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pinwheels are puffed and golden brown.

5. Serve & Enjoy

  1. Let the pinwheels cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
