Hungarian crepes (palacsinta)


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Batter:

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, salt, and half of the milk.
  • Gradually add the flour while whisking to avoid lumps.
  • Pour in the remaining milk and sparkling water, then mix in the oil.
  • Let the batter rest for 15-30 minutes (optional, but helps with texture).

2️⃣ Cook the Crepes:

  • Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil.
  • Pour about ¼ cup of batter into the pan, swirling it to spread evenly.
  • Cook for about 1-2 minutes, then flip and cook for another 30 seconds.

3️⃣ Fill & Serve:

  • Spread with jam, Nutella, cinnamon sugar, or sweetened cottage cheese for a sweet version.
  • For savory crepes, fill with cheese, ham, mushrooms, or sour cream.
