  • 1 lb (450g) smoked pork ribs or ham hock
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup (240ml) sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp Hungarian paprika
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 6 cups (1.5L) water or broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp vinegar (optional, for extra tang)
