I found this recipe in a British magazine from the 60s!For the Pasta:

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make the cheese sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until smooth.
  3. Add cheese & seasoning: Lower the heat and stir in cheddar, Red Leicester, mustard powder, salt, and pepper until melted and smooth.
  4. Combine & assemble: Mix the cooked pasta and chopped ham into the cheese sauce. Pour into a buttered baking dish.
  5. Topping: Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and paprika for a golden, crispy finish.
  6. Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Serve & enjoy! Classic 1960s comfort food at its best!

Would you like to add a twist or keep it vintage? 😊
