Rich and Creamy Shrimp and Crab Spinach Dip with Garlic and Parmesan

Instructions

  1. Cook the Shrimp:
    • Heat the olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until pink and opaque. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Spinach and Garlic:
    • In the same skillet, sauté the garlic for 30 seconds, or until fragrant. Add the spinach and cook until wilted (or warmed through if using frozen spinach). Remove from heat.
  3. Mix the Base:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Mix until smooth.
  4. Incorporate Ingredients:
    • Fold in the cooked shrimp, crab meat, sautéed spinach, Parmesan, and mozzarella cheeses. Add smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Bake the Dip:
    • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish or ovenproof skillet. Sprinkle additional mozzarella cheese on top for a gooey, golden crust.
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
  6. Serve Hot:
    • Garnish with fresh parsley or chives, and serve immediately with crackers, toasted bread, or fresh veggies like carrot sticks or bell peppers.

Tips:

  • Seafood Variations: You can substitute the shrimp and crab with lobster, scallops, or even a white fish like cod.
  • Cheese Options: Experiment with Gruyère, cheddar, or Monterey Jack for a different flavor profile.
  • Make Ahead: Assemble the dip a day ahead, cover, and refrigerate. Bake just before serving.

Enjoy this creamy, decadent dip that’s sure to impress your guests! 🌊🦐
