Step 2: Prepare the Cake Base
Option 1:
If using pound cake or sponge cake, slice into thin, flat layers (about ½ inch thick). Lay them side by side on parchment and press slightly to flatten and seal the edges together into a rectangular sheet.
Option 2 (EASIEST):
Lay out 4 slices of crustless white sandwich bread slightly overlapping. Use a rolling pin to flatten them into a thin rectangle.
Step 3: Assemble the Roll
- Spread a layer of cheesecake filling evenly over the cake/bread base.
- Sprinkle chopped strawberries all over. Add a swirl of jam if using.
- Carefully roll from one end using the parchment paper to help, like you’re rolling a sushi roll.
- Wrap the roll tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set.
Step 4: Coating Time
- Once chilled, unwrap and brush the outside lightly with more cream cheese filling or melted white chocolate.
- Roll the entire log in crushed golden Oreos or vanilla wafer crumbs, mixed with strawberry powder or sprinkles for color.
Step 5: Slice & Serve
- Use a sharp knife to slice into 1-inch thick sushi-style pieces.
- Garnish with more whipped cream, strawberry drizzle, or even tiny strawberry “wasabi” on the side for fun
Tips & Extras
- Want it extra fancy? Drizzle with melted white chocolate and top each piece with a strawberry slice.
- Feeling fun? Serve with chopsticks!
- You can freeze the roll slightly for clean slicing and a firmer texture.
This is playful, pretty, and absolutely delicious. Kids love it. Adults are wowed. It’s giving “you spent hours” vibes, but it’s actually quick and easy. Would you like a video script, a reel caption, or a blog version of this next?
