- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 celery stalk, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (10 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (10 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 packet chili seasoning mix (or homemade chili seasoning)
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (to taste)
- 2 cups beef broth (or water)
- Optional: shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions for topping
